Brothers Ernst and Thomas Loosen stand behind the brand. Their aim is to make the region’s fruit, lightness and balance between softness and acidity accessible to a wider audience. Dr. L should be distinguished from the single-site wines of the Dr. Loosen estate.
The Mosel’s slate slopes and long Riesling growing season provide the regional reference. This label puts immediate enjoyment of fruit ahead of powerful oak. At the table, that style makes a useful counterpoint to dishes with gentle spice or aromatic herbs.
