A story in the glass
Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon introduces Mendoza through Andean vineyards and a desert landscape sustained by mountain water. A familiar international grape takes on a distinctly Argentine setting, shaped by elevation, strong light and cooler air.
Read more Close story
Alamos vineyards draw on water from melting Andean snow. Elevated sites combine abundant sunshine with temperatures moderated by altitude. This apparent contradiction is central to Mendoza: fruit ripens in a dry environment, while growing conditions remain closely connected to the mountains rising above the rows of vines.
Cabernet offers a separate interpretation of this setting within the Alamos collection. The producer describes dark cherries, blackberries and accents of spice, suggesting a ripe expression of fruit. A useful way into the wine is to explore how that fullness meets softly outlined tannins in an Argentine reading of a familiar variety.
