Sensuale Moscato

Vigneti del Vulture · Basilicata · Italy

01

A story in the glass

Sensuale Moscato leads to Venosa in Basilicata, an area also celebrated for Aglianico del Vulture. Here, however, aromatic Moscato, sweetness and gentle effervescence take the leading role.

Read more Close story

The producer identifies volcanic-origin soils and Venosa’s rolling hills as the setting. Sensuale is not Piedmontese Asti, despite belonging to the same aromatic Moscato family. It has its own southern Italian origin and the Basilicata IGP designation.

Gentle pressing, quick vinification and stainless-steel maturation aim to retain grape and fruit aromas. Rather than inventing a story of long barrel ageing, it is worth appreciating this direct, fragrant character. Try it with a fruit-led dessert or contrast its sweetness with a mild goat’s cheese.
