A story in the glass
Château Le Grand Verdus Réserve brings a Renaissance estate into the story of the Le Grix de la Salle family. Its identity begins with a deliberate selection from the property’s clay and limestone soils.
Read more Close story
The modern chapter began with Philippe Le Grix de la Salle, who started growing vines in 1947. In 1973 he left the cooperative and began making wine at the estate. Steel tanks beneath the old roof structure brought contemporary winemaking into a setting shaped by several centuries of architecture.
Réserve is a limited selection within the château’s range, combining Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The producer links it specifically to clay soils containing limestone. Its meaning therefore extends beyond the word Supérieur: selected fruit and sites create a more focused expression of the family’s Bordeaux, balancing fruit with structure.
