A story in the glass
Alazani Valley leads to Kakheti, Georgia’s principal wine region. Elibo invites a conversation about a river valley, local grapes and a semi-sweet expression of a country whose wine culture has many different forms.
Read more Close story
Kakhetian vineyards occupy the Alazani and Iori river basins, among other areas. Official accounts describe varied soils and native grapes alongside both traditional and European approaches to winemaking. Georgian wine therefore embraces considerable diversity: clay qvevri and contemporary cellars belong to the same broader culture of working with grapes.
Elibo’s importer places the brand between the Alazani River and the Caucasus, describing Alazani as an approachable, fruit-centred direction among semi-sweet wines. That regional perspective helps explain this label without inventing an individual vineyard history. In the glass, the relationship of sweetness, fruit and freshness provides the most useful thread to follow.
