A story in the glass
Catena Malbec belongs to a family story that began with Nicola Catena planting vines in Mendoza. Its modern theme is the exploration of mountain vineyards and the composition of their different voices within one wine.

Nicola Catena arrived from Italy and planted his first Malbec vineyard in Mendoza in 1902. Later generations developed the family project, while Nicolás Catena Zapata focused particular attention on the potential of Andean elevations. That history explains the close association between the family name and the investigation of individual vineyard environments.
The Catena range combines fruit from the family’s mountain estate vineyards. Laura Catena and Alejandro Vigil describe a process of composing character from selected locations within Mendoza. Malbec therefore offers more than a recognisable grape: it expresses an approach to blending sites, using their differences to seek balance around a shared varietal identity.
