A story in the glass
LGI Wines’ L’Escargot comes from Côtes-de-Gascogne. Behind the French name meaning “snail” is a fresh blend of Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc, rather than a heavy white aged for years in oak.

Gascony in south-western France has a strong white-grape tradition. Colombard, long connected with Armagnac production too, has found a further role in aromatic still wines. In L’Escargot it meets Sauvignon Blanc, creating a distinctly citrus-and-herbal direction.
LGI is based in Carcassonne but works with producers in several parts of southern France. Its company name should therefore not be mistaken for this wine’s appellation. L’Escargot offers lively refreshment with fish and light starters rather than a dominant, creamy style.
