A story in the glass
Il Pumo takes its name from a ceramic ornament found on Apulian balconies and stairways. San Marzano brings this local symbol of abundance to a Primitivo label rooted in the wine culture of Salento.

For centuries, the pumo has decorated railings and entrances in Puglia. The producer interprets it as a sign of nature’s generosity, fashioned from clay belonging to the same landscape as the vines. Its name connects the wine with an object encountered in the region’s architecture and craft traditions.
This Primitivo comes from the area around San Marzano in Salento. Its documentation describes warm sites and thin, rocky clay soils. Fruit remains central to the approach, with maturation in steel. Plum and cherry meet a herbal background, offering a direct route into the grape and the Mediterranean setting surrounding these southern vineyards.
