A story in the glass
Behind Monte Zovo stands the Cottini family, whose story began with a farm in Valpolicella. Its Amarone points towards the eastern hills, where elevated vineyard sites meet the region’s tradition of drying grapes.

Carlo Cottini established his farm in 1925, growing fruit trees alongside vines. The next generation concentrated on wine, and Diego Cottini founded Monte Zovo in 1998. His subsequent search for sites in eastern Valpolicella became an important chapter in the family’s exploration of how individual places shape wine.
The Amarone documentation identifies Tregnago and slopes facing Mezzane di Sopra. Its story begins in that landscape, then continues beyond harvest in the drying room. Grapes rest before pressing as concentration develops gradually. The relationship between a particular place and the time allowed to its fruit gives this wine its distinctive context.
